Katharine Hill BA (Hons)
Having worked in the press industry as a photographer for more than a decade I have experienced a wide range of subjects and I love the ever changing challenges of photography. Besides my work as a newspaper photographer I also produce images for private clients covering many different subjects.
I am trained in both digital and film photography. I learned my trade on small, medium and large format cameras and from time to time I still use film for my personal work.
I am lucky enough to have been trained in music photography by the great Jill Furmanovsky who counts Oasis, Madness, The Rolling Stones and many more among her clients. Music photography still remains one of the subjects that I am most passionate about and I am currently working on projects within the bluegrass and Americana music scene.
My other great passion is capturing the rolling and mountainous landscapes of the USA and Canada. Having been influenced greatly during my studies by the great American photographers including Ansel Adams, William Eggleston, Walker Evans and many more, I am now exhibiting many of my landscape and cityscape images in an exhbition entitled 'In My View'.
